In this video we will see how to make Ashoka Halwa in Tamil. Asoka halwa is also known as Moong Dal Halwa or Pasi paruppu halwa. This halwa is very easy to make and only requires 3 basic ingredients moong dal, wheat flour and sugar. Adding cardamom powder imparts a nice smell to the halwa. To begin the preparation of the halwa we need to first cook the moong dal in pressure cooker until it is soft and mushy. Remember to cook the wheat flour on medium heat for some time to get rid of the raw smell. The use of food color is completely optional.
