This recipe is very easy to make and only requires a handful of ingredients, javvarisi, sugar, milk and roasted nuts. I have added crushed cardamom to add flavor to the recipe and I have used a few strands of saffron to impart a nice color. The perfect payasam should have the sago cooked just right, if it is under-cooked they would be tough to chew and if cooked too much, the sago balls would be mushy. You can also use condensed milk to enhance the taste of the recipe.
